Florida Keys oder Key Largo verbunden ist in jedem Fall die ganz im S\u00fcden befindliche Insel Key West. Von Key Largo aus ben\u00f6tigt man ungef\u00e4hr zwei Stunden, um \u00fcber die verschiedenen Inselgruppen und einem Wahrzeichen dieser Region \u2013 der Seven-Mile-Bridge \u2013 nach Key West zu gelangen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Fahrt dorthin lohnt sich aber, da man von dem Charme und der Atmosph\u00e4re dieser au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlichen Insel sofort gefangen genommen wird. Bis auf die touristische Hauptstra\u00dfe Duval Street sind und wirken alle anderen Stra\u00dfen nahezu urspr\u00fcnglich.<\/p>\n<p>Architektonisch interessante H\u00e4user, sch\u00f6ne Vorg\u00e4rten, au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Pl\u00e4tze und Vieles mehr sind Teil dieser besonderen Insel. Zus\u00e4tzlich gibt es nat\u00fcrlich auch einige wirklich interessante Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten:<\/p>\n<p>Zum Beispiel der Mallory Square, der Treffpunkt zum Sonnenuntergang f\u00fcr viele K\u00fcnstler und Artisten, die fast dem Abendrot \u00fcber dem Golf von Mexiko die Show stehlen k\u00f6nnten.<\/p>\n<p>Des Weiteren das Ernest-Hemingway-Haus, welches in keinem Reisereport fehlen darf. Hier erf\u00e4hrt man alles \u00fcber den Literaturnobelpreis geschm\u00fcckten Autor und andere wichtige Ereignisse seiner Zeit. Auch f\u00fcr Katzenliebhaber ein Muss. Hemingway war fr\u00fcher ein richtiger Katzenliebhaber und auch heute haben in seinem Haus einige Katzen eine Bleibe gefunden. Sie d\u00fcrfen sogar in seinem alten Bettchen schlafen.<\/p>\n<p>Nat\u00fcrlich sollte man auch dem Harry S. Truman Little White House einen Besuch abstatten. Man erh\u00e4lt Eindr\u00fccke vom Leben des damals m\u00e4chtigsten Mannes der Welt, der hier seinen Urlaub verbracht und sich Auszeiten vom Pr\u00e4sidentenamt genommen hat. Ebenso erh\u00e4lt man ein Bild der 50er Jahre und kann sich \u00fcber andere interessante Fakten informieren, wie zum Beispiel \u00fcber die verschiedenen Pr\u00e4sidententreffs die in diesem Trotzdem muss hier nicht Schluss sein mit geschichtlichem Hintergrund, denn direkt an der Duval Street ist die Sloppy Joe\u2018s Bar gelegen. Hier gibt es den fast schon \u201ehistorischen\u201c Sloppy Joe\u2019s Burger, ein Burger der anstatt mit Bouletten, mit einer Hackfleischsauce angerrichtet wird. Neben leckeren Burgern wird hier auch oft Live Musik gespielt.<\/p>\n<p>Von hier aus k\u00f6nnte man einen 20 min\u00fctigen Spaziergang durch die Stadt bis hin zum Southernmost Point unternehmen. Dieser Punkt gilt als der S\u00fcdlichste Punkt der USA und ist mit einer riesigen Boje gekennzeichnet.<\/p>\n<p>Auch der Dry Tortugas Park ist eine Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeit, die vor allem f\u00fcr Tauchfreaks interessant ist. 99 Prozent des Nationalparks liegen unter Wasser und beherbergen eine Vielzahl an Fischen und Korallen und sogar einige Wracks. Aber auch \u00fcber Wasser gibt es einiges zu sehen. Seeschwalben, Fregattv\u00f6gel und Meeresschildkr\u00f6ten haben hier auf den kleinen Inseln ihre Brutpl\u00e4tze und au\u00dferdem gibt es noch das Fort Jefferson, ein alter Milit\u00e4rst\u00fctzpunkt der U.S. Army, der ebenfalls auf einer kleinen Insel gelegen ist. Dies w\u00e4re ein spannender Tagesausflug von Key West aus, den man entweder per Boot oder per Flugzeug buchen kann.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\"
